If it has a PPC 601, NuBus, or no Open Firmware, it doesn't work.

Otherwise, the answer is probably "we don't know". If you have any
data points for machines not listed there, tell us.

The info I can provide as far as what I'm getting trying to install on
my C600 is limited since
I have to set up a serial console in order to view OF. I have yet to do
this. I will do this soon.
Basically I have not been able to boot off the floppy and that's that. I
used the suntar utility to write every available boot.fs image to a
floppy. I then use BootVars from the LinuxPPC distribution to set my
boot variables. I reboot, and I hear the floppy being read and little
else for
a very long time. I have successfully installed LinuxPPC R4 and R5 and
have used OF booting
succesfully with Linux. No trouble with Linux recognizing my CD-ROM
drive or extra SCSI hardrive.
That is all I can say at this point. I remember seeing somewhere that
to do a successful floppy boot these machines would require a COFF file
on the boot floppy. Does anyone out there have one? If I'm not mistaken
I recall these being discussed some time ago in the archives.
