Ahh, good advice, thank you.

However, whilst I do get further, into the actual Installation system,
my system then generates errors on esp0 on trying to spin up sd0:

superb-block backups (for fsck -b #) at:
32, 7056, 14080, 21104, 27680, 34704, 41728, 48752,
553278, 62352, esp0: illegal command: 0xc2 (state 2, phase 3, prevphase
1)
esp0: SCSI bus reset
sd0: ..is spinning up...waiting

readesp0: illegal command: 0xc2 (state 2, phse 3, prevphase 1)
 eesp0: SCSI bus reset
rror: 48

rdfs: Input/output errorsd0: ..is spinning up...waiting

It did recognize the drive correctly during the boot up. I have removed
the CDROM from the chain, just in case. Is there something different
about termination or signalling on that other bus from the MESH one?
