Hello,

Why is -O2 the default optimization on NetBSD? I'm asking this because
the same happens with FreeBSD-current and there is a lot problems with
old ports that do not compile with -O2.

I compile a lot of pkgsrc on SE/30 and I respect the default -O2.

I read a lot of opinions between -O and -O2 and for what I read it
does't make any binary performance diference, it takes more compile time
only.

Why not use a more conservative -O instead of -O2?

Nuno Teixeira
