Subject: w/top/ps -u fail on diskless system

Hello all-

I just bought an old LCIII, and although I'm planning to keep it
as a MacOS box, I'm trying to get NetBSD on it. It has only 80mb of disk,
so a local install is out of the question IMHO. I compiled a minimal,
NFS-root kernel and the complete userland from a NetBSD/i386 box.
Everything seems to be working fine, except I'm not sure if swap is
working 100% (swapctl -l crashes in multiuser mode), and some utmp-based
programs fail, including w, top, ps -u and uptime.

w, top and uptime simply freeze (they break with ctrl-C), and ps -u dumps
core. Root and swap are mounted off of a Debian Linux machine.

ps without -u works. Oh, also, ftp, ping and lynx report bogus times,
going from 0kb/sec to 20000+kB/sec (impossible here... heh)

Thanks a bunch in advance!
