Hello,
I know I have asked about the difference between the SBC and the Generic
kernel before, the answer was "try what works".
I refer to 1.5ZA

A small table with correspondence of macType <--> kernel would be good to
publish around the FAQ. In the case if someone gives me the data I would
mess around in HTML. Or, big shame, if this information already exists and I
have not found it please a link!

referring to a MacII what is better, if both seem to work? right now I am
using SBC but the disk performance is not what could be called blazing!

I have recently installed MacBSD on a spare disk on a Quadra840 too. What is
the advice there? I see that everything works fine on the Quadra! ethernet
too! The disk is even slower than on the MacII, if that was possible, but
from what I understand reading the last messages on the list here it is due
to the lack of DMA.

Is there a disk speed test utility that I could run ? LIke HDT, DiskTime and
such for the MacOS. This would ease comparison and maybe I am complaining...
for but a small diference and what I notice is the difference of OS
architecture and different applications.
