Hi all.

I am trying to install NetBSD on a PowerBook 150 internal disk.
I boot with Kernel netbsd-INSTALL.gz, and BSD Root Device ATA disk,
bus 0 device 0, Enabled, i Single User.
I have tried with an old snapshot (20020728) and the latest daily I
could find (20020814) and in both cases the installer fails when
trying to format the partition:

Status:	Failed: command ended on signal
	Command: /sbin/newfs /dev/rwd0a
	Press any key to continue
---------------------------------------------------------------
Warning: 727 sector(s) in last cylinder unallocated
/dev/rwd0a:	6053888 sectors in 6407 cylinders of 15 tracks, 63 sectors
uid 0 comm newfs on /:file system full

/: write failed, file system is full

Command
	/sbin/newfs /dev/rwd0a failed. I can=B4t continue.

I exit and do a df and this is what it shows:
=46ilesystem	512-blocks	Used	Avail	Capacity	Mounted on
/dev/md0a 3967	3106 861 78%	/
kernfs 2 2 0 100%	/kern

I am downloading snapshot 1.6F to try it but I am afraid it will give
the same error...
Any hint or workaround?
Which file system is full? Or is it a "fake" error?

Thanks a lot

Gerardo Alvarez

P.S: These are some more details:

System boots "OK", this is a transcript of the part about the disk:

(...)
wdc0 at obi0 (PowerBook series IDE interface)
wd0 at wdc0 channel 0 drive 0: <FUJITSU MHK2048AT>
wd0: drive supports 16-sector PIO transfers, LBA addressing
wd0: 4645 MB, 10068 cyl, 15 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 9514260 sectors
wd0: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 4 (Ultra/66)
(...)

A couple of error messages flash by in the lower line, too fast to
read properly, something like " erase? erase ...") and then sysinst
kicks in.

I select option a) Install NetBSD to hard disk
Then it says "I found only one disk, wd0. Therefore I assume you want
to install NetBSD on it" (ok)
a: Use only part of the disk

The partition table is like this:
Part	size	offset	fstype	use	mount point (name)
-----------------------------------------------------------
wd0d 40960 64 HFS	MacOS (BACK)
wd0e	1024000 41024 HFS	MacOS (MAC2)
wd0b	1024000	1065024 swap
wd0a	6053888	2089024	4.2BSD	Root&Usr /
wd0f 49088	8142912 Free

If I try to fix the partitions they are all fine.

In the next step is when the error occurs.

I am not using the original internal disk, but a bigger one (4,5 Gb,
partitioned for MacOs, NetBSD Root & Usr and Swap). The computer has
24 Mb RAM. I am using Booter 2.0.0b.11.
