If you're using GENERIC, try booting GENERICSBC. If you're using
GENERICSBC, try booting GENERIC. These kernels have different drivers
for the ncr5380 SCSI chip that's in the '030-based macs. That should
help the kernel once it's booted. It's possible that this will still
panic, in which your best bet is probably to try a sysinst install after
partitioning your drive in MacOS. This is a bit more difficult than the
MacOS-tool-based install, but should serve you a lot better--once you
figure out which SCSI driver suits best (each works with some drives
better than the other, otherwise there would only be one...).
