I've seen this happen randomly on my system with kernels other than 
1.5.2.  I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but it has always 
cleared up for me on subsequent re-boots or by installing a different 
kernel.  If the problem persists for you try installing the GENERICSBC 
kernel in the 1.5.2 distribution and failing that try one of the snapshot 
kernels.
