i have a LC 575.

i was having some ethernet problems before, the sn0 was locking up
occasionally. and trying to read music off the CD was causing a kernel
panic.

in any case, i decided maybe i'd cvsup the source and rebuild the system
to see if that would fix it.

firguring that 20M RAM was not going to be good, i put a 32M simm in, and
rebooted.

everything seemed fine, but the ethernet was not working at all.
i was seeing sn0: Tx errors.

odd.

i figured, ok, well, i'll put the 16M simm back in, and do the build process
like that.

well, i put the 16M back in, and i get the same errors.

i tried reseating everything, and still, got Tx error.

i fired up MacOS, and had no problems using netscape and ftp from there.

now, putting in the 32M i can conceive of possible problems there, but when
i restored the system to its original state, should i not have be back to
just the occasional sn0 hangs?

any ideas?
