Make sure you've got savecore=YES in your /etc/rc.conf (it's what's
in the stock install in /etc/defaults/rc.conf, so this probably
isn't the problem).

What does savecore say when it does run after this panic? (It runs
on the next boot.) Does the kernel not even get dumped on swap?
