Can you give a little more detail?  I.e., can you telnet out?  Have you
checked to make sure that you have processes listening on the server
ports?  Have you checked inetd.conf to make sure that the services you
want to be enabled actually are?  Do you get anything on the console?
Does a tcpdump show anything going in or out?
