Actually, the Internet control panel does have this option.  Open the 
control panel and click on the "Advanced" tab.  On the lower right 
side there is a checkbox for passive ftp.  It should be checked by 
default but you never know.  To be safe, restart the computer and 
then launch the AOL software again. >>

Ah ha!  I've found the Passive FTP checkbox and checked it.  It had been 
unchecked.  I hope that this will work.  It seems tome sometimes that AOL 
doesn't really "believe" in cooperating with anything else... Thanks again!
