Hi, I still have my IIci with 32Meg of RAM.
I have the following output for ps -aux :
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TT STAT STARTED TIME COMMAND
rzara 213 6.4 4.9 528 792 ?? S 7:45PM 0:02.09 /usr/pkg/sbin/afpd
root 197 0.0 2.0 420 320 E0 S 7:39PM 0:04.30 -csh -m
rzara 192 0.0 2.0 424 308 E0 Is 7:38PM 0:06.81 -csh
root 190 0.0 3.3 220 536 ?? Ss 7:38PM 0:00.25 /usr/sbin/cron
root 187 0.0 3.5 48 560 ?? Is 7:38PM 0:00.10 /usr/sbin/inetd -l
root 175 0.0 5.7 472 916 ?? I 7:38PM 0:00.36 /usr/pkg/sbin/afpd
root 173 0.0 3.0 92 476 ?? I 7:38PM 0:00.11 /usr/pkg/sbin/papd
root 163 0.0 3.6 104 584 ?? S 7:37PM 0:00.93 /usr/pkg/sbin/atalkd
root 91 0.0 3.2 92 508 ?? Ss 7:37PM 0:01.00 /usr/sbin/syslogd -s
root 5 0.0 138.1 0 22620 ?? DL 7:36PM 0:00.20 (aiodoned)
root 4 0.8 138.1 0 22620 ?? DL 7:36PM 0:03.47 (ioflush)
root 3 0.0 138.1 0 22620 ?? DL 7:36PM 0:00.95 (reaper)
root 2 0.0 138.1 0 22620 ?? DL 7:36PM 0:00.02 (pagedaemon)
root 1 0.0 1.3 296 196 ?? Is 7:36PM 0:00.24 init
root 214 0.0 1.5 320 228 E0 R+ 7:46PM 0:00.09 ps -aux
root 0 0.0 138.1 0 22620 ?? DLs 7:36PM 0:00.02 (swapper)
What I find strange is the %mem of (swapper) (ioflush) etc which is 138.1
I also have the following lines in dmesg:
total memory = 16384 KB
avail memory = 27128 KB
using 230 buffers containing 920 KB of memory
I have more available memory than the total ?
This explains the value in ps -aux, but is that normal ?
I've set the correct value in the booter for the RAM.
Anyone Can explain this ?
Thanks,
Remi
