A problem that is not always obvious is that disks from other machines are
sometimes low level formatted with block sizes other than 512 bytes.

A friend found a "Video Cube" in the trash not too long ago, which had
four ST12550N's and a number of ST15150N's; the 12550 were low level
formatted with 2048 bytes per sector (I suppose for video use), so I
needed to re-low level format them in order to get Apple HD SC (patched)
to work with them.

Although neither Apple HD SC nor Drive Setup can do this, FWB HD Tool(Kit?
Box?) does this. So do Amigas.

If the other suggestions don't work, try this.

Good luck,
John Klos
