Ah, that doesn't sound too good :) You might try the kern_sbc.tgz kernel
instead; there are two drivers for the SCSI chip in the Mac II series,
and each have their own quirks... if you have problems with one, try the
other one. The kern.tgz kernel uses the ncrscsi driver, and the
kern_sbc.tgz kernel uses the sbc driver...

Okay, since it mentions sd0[a-h], it did recognize your hard drive...
