Hey.. You are the man! That was the problem. I think that the problem
actually was casued by having my rsync command backwards (tried to copy
the backup folder over my root directory!! Luckily I was using a mode that
would not delete files.. but it did mess up the permissions.

Now I wonder why my rsync made the box crash hard (no panic or anything..
nothing would respond from the terminal... I could connect to open ports,
but the daemons would not respond).

I was using:

rsync -arpvcz --partial --progress -e 'ssh' root@akram2:/ /bshare/akram

(akram2 is the NetBSD box I was trying to copy from)

Anyone have any ideas?
