Subject: libm: ieee or not?

Compiling an ieee libm for use on my Quadra 650 running NetBSD 1.4.3
yields noticeable speed improvements (35% in BYTEMark's Fourier test for
example), but I just know there's a reason that's not the default. On my
i386 systems, an ieee libm screws up alot of things (for example top's
output) but I haven't noticed any strangeness yet on my mac. Does anyone
know what the caveats are when using the ieee libm, or why it should
work better on a 68k box?

Anyone know of any other tricks to speed up a Quadra? How is NetBSD 1.5?

Thanks,
Steve
