Alas this appears to be the case.

I indeed have a IIvx that exhibited the very same behaviour.

I tried 1.4.2 kernel, then an intermediate build following 1.4.2, and that
appeared to fix them problem. (eg uname returns 1.4U so it's undefined)

It would be worth proving if the 1.5 branch has fixed the problem.

Roger

Greetings,

I installed 1.4.1 on a IIvx with a Quantum HD. When booting, I get scsi
error messages and it never can finish booting;

scsi0 at sbc0: 8 targets, 8 luns per target.
sbc0: parity error!

I used the sbc kernal. (kern_sbc.tgz ).
If I install the regular generic kernal using the same machine and HD It
will at least boot fully but I get parity errors when accessing the HD for
anything.

Nothing is glomped onto the scsi bus, and putting that HD in a IIci the
system boots fine and runs normally.

Should I recompile for the IIvx, or is it time to try a newer version of
NetBSD?
Or can I modify or use a different driver for my HD?

Anyone seen this before?

Ron
