Yes, there are issues with the Install program:

Perhaps a better solution than that described in the FAQ would be to
use the menu driven (ramdisk) sysinstall. There are some notes on that
in the INSTALL docs. Be warned that there are still open issues with
the partitioning tool, but if you stick to the partitions you've
already made, that shouldn't be a problem.

The big hurdle is that the install kernel has no support for
interpreting HFS partitions, to read the sets. So you need either an
ftp or nfs server on your LAN, or you'd need to "cpin" the sets to a
spare partition (or the root partition, if you choose "upgrade"
instead of "new install"). If you still have a NetBSD partition on the
80M disk, that would be ideal.
