It's adequate for 640x480, but not at 256 colors.  That requires exactly
300k.  At best, if the hardware allowed it, you could get 6.8 bpp.  So for
all practical purposes, 6 bpp, or 64 colors.  Unfortunately, I think the
closest the hardware got to that was 4 bpp, which is 16 colors.
Interestingly enough, you could have gotten up to 512x512 in 256k, too....
Anyway....  (Me and my friendship with non-square pixels....)
