Subject: ip forwarding problems?

I got my Quadra 840 up and running thru mc0 and connected to my iMac Linux box.

I tried today to setup ipchains today to allow my BSD box to access the net via
the Linux box's ppp connection. For some reason, now I cannot even ping the
Linux machine from the BSD box and yet I seem to able to ping the BSD box from
Linux. It's as if the connection is no longer there -- nslookup doesn't find
the DNS on the Linux box, nothing.

I have gone through everything a (it seems like) million times and cannot
figure out what is wrong. Any ideas as to how I can diagnose the problem?
