Last time I upgraded I had a LOT of problems so I want to ask a few
questions before I upgrade from 1.3.3 to 1.4.2.

I want to do a minimal upgrade. The 1.4.2 kernel is in place and working
nicely. If I just untar the base.tgz from / that will be enough right? Do
I HAVE to install base.tgz? So far the only problem I seem to be having is
that ps and top don't work.

Also, my previous problem seems to have been precipitated by a bug in
pkg_add which wiped out my disk when I stopped it half-way. Is this bug fixed?
