Yes, I'm not sure why the packages system gets confused about the 
dependencies.  It seems it shouldn't be removing old versions of packages 
as long as there are other packages which depend on it. As Pat mentioned 
KDE 1.1.2 depends on some packages that are no longer in the packages 
system. However they were there when KDE was built.

Building the packages for some ports takes a long time.  On my mac68k 
system it takes about six _weeks_ to build everything that will build.  A 
lot of things change in that amount of time.

No problem.  It just sounded like you weren't aware of the packages 
system in your previous posting.  That's why I e-mailed you privately 
questioning your statment.
