Yeah, that could bear explanation, I guess... :^>

My point was not that binary packages exist or not, but that, on the
presumption the version of KDE Pat wants was fairly recent (say, recent
enough that it depended on packages which he couldn't find in binary
form), he wouldn't be able to get the necessary binary packages until
another release and rebuild of the binary packages. I'm not sure how
he ended up trying to use a version of KDE that didn't work with the
1.4.2 versions of those libraries, but I maintain that the way for him
to get what he wants (recent versions of the KDE package and those it
depends upon) is to go from pkgsrc and build them.
