Try "mtree -ef /etc/mtree/NetBSD.dist -p /", or see mtree(8). There
are "-u" and "-U" options to fix the permissions automatically, but be
careful with those -- if you use the "-u" option without the "-e"
option, or you specify the wrong heirarchy, it could do some serious
damage.
