Quoting from Color X-Server Master Ken:

"What's here:

Xmac68k_color.tar.gz
Xmac68k_color.bz2
        A gzipped tarfile (or bzip2 archive) containing a color-capable X
server which should be compatible with the NetBSD 1.4 X
distribution.
It is based on Ken's OSFA source, so please see the file named
        README.Xmac68k_OSFA for more details.

Xmac68k_OSFA.tar.gz
A gzipped tarfile containing a color-capable X server which should
be compatible with the NetBSD 1.3 X distribution. This file
should
be installer friendly. This is Ken's original OSFA X server, so
please see the file named README.Xmac68k_OSFA for more details.

Xmac68k_OSFA.src.tar.gz
The modified source files necessary to compile a color version of
        the NetBSD 1.3 X server."

So, the OSFA server doesn't work on 1.4x systems; you need the
Xmac68k_color one instead.
