i would say yes, based on my experiences (unless you want to use a q950
which has some other problems, like no adb support)

my q800 is a nice little machine and acts as the router on my home
network.  even with heavy disk i/o, it still performs adaquately.
i belive the q800 is a 33mhz, so its not much slower than the q840.
the dma support in the disk driver is a big win for the q800.
the q700 isnt a bad little machine either (i believe its 25mhz)
