My IIcx seems to have decided it doesn't want to be off and now
spontaneously turns itself on at intervals from a few seconds to a couple
of days. Is this a problem which might be due to a bad backup battery on
the motherboard, or is it really the power supply?
With used IIcx's being only $10 or so it's obviously not worth buying the
power supply at $50-$200.
Truth in whatever: the display is bad on this machine. Not sure if it's
the Toby card or the monitor, yet. If it's the card then there is a
possible third location for a failure that would explain both failures at
once.
Signature failed Preliminary Design Review.
Feasibility of a new signature is currently being evaluated.
