Actually they have the same fifo size.  The modem port is higher priority
so if you are using both ports you will get fewer overflows on the modem
port.

The original presumption was that the printer port would run AppleTalk or
be output-mostly and therefore could handle the lower priority better than
a "dumb" modem connection.
