UVM is NetBSD's virtual memory subsystem.  What this error message
mean, I don't know, but I'm guessing it's a netatalk related problem.
Did you try TCP/IP (e.g. ftp) to upload the file?  TCP/IP stack should
be more stable than netatalk stack.
