I tried formating the external hard drive with a patched copy of apple hd utility.  I tried
a different scsi id.  neither worked my se/30 will not boot the macos with the external
drive connected.  the drive is terminated.  this is not a problem on my duo.

on another note, is it possible to put netbsd on a duo 280c?
