I have the impression that the standard relese system is
under-optimized. I remember much faster compilations with the
kernel/libraries built with -O2 then I can do now with the system
installed from the 1.3.2 CD. Since my system is not doing anything
critical, I prefer not to pay attention to possible GCC optimizer
bugs.
