Another good news is that I'm getting myself familiar with 24-bit cfb
code by playing with XFree86 on i386.  I hope to be able to pull out
XFree86's 24-bit cfb code and put it into our server so that it'll run
in 24-bit (millions of colors) mode.  No definite time line, though.
