Hello

i reported scsi problems of freezing on a Mac][

i must apologize, the problem stays on my side. in fact it happens under
macOS too, just takes longer (as the disk is used there only as scratch
partition and temporary storage for files to install in to NetBSD).

the disk is an IBM 661 and is perfectly function: i tried it on a quadra
and on a powermac, i had it run hot but didn't show up that scsi-freeze
problem.
While on the mac][ you just need to run some disk-tests to freeze it 100%.
i removed it (and with it netbsd unfortunately) and the mac runs fine. the
other HD's work perfect.

this is so a mac-hardware problem i think.
could it be that the disk is incompatible with the Mac][ NCR scsi
controller ??? the other two machines had a NCR, but probably a newer
version.

or am i missing something (cables are checked, termination too, i use now
an active terminator, i tried to attach it with only the internal HD...)?

help would be good as i don't have money for a new disk (and macOS 7.1
anyway supports only 2gig and it would be difficult to find a suitable hard
disk for it nowaday).

greets,

riccardo
