I've got NetBSD 1.4 running on my Centris 610, and I've got Linux running
on an old 486. I recently got Netatalk running on both of them.

I connect to both of the file servers using a G3 running Mac OS 8.6. 8.6
has two methods of mounting disks, the old "Chooser" and the new "Network
Browser". I understand that in Mac OS 8.7, that the Chooser will be no
more.

Here's the problem. Using the Chooser, I can connect to both the NetBSD
box and the Linux box. If I use the Network Browser, I can't connect to
the NetBSD box. The Linux box works fine.

Here's what happens.
1.	Open Network Browser from apple menu
(both servers "Max" and "Pete" show up)

2.	I double-click "Max" the netBSD box, and I get a Login dialog.

3.	I enter my login name and password and click "Connect"

4.	I get a dialog box that says
	(I/O error.) "-5024" (OK)

5.	I click OK, then cancel.

6.	If I try to "Quit" the Network browser, it crashes dumping
me into macsbug, where I force it to quit.

Any ideas?

thanks,
Roger
