Try booting without check it.  If I'm not wrong, this check
is for several NuBus video board.

Okay, so HD SC setup recognize most of harddrive.  Once
NetBSD boots up, it doesn't need SCSI driver in the driver
partition at all.  But if you have only one drive, you can't
remove it since MacOS need it to access the drive.  Some 3rd
party utilities will install their driver also.

Yes, it does so unless you moved the driver partition to
somewhere.  Partition map actually occupies first part of
the disk though.

You can look at this by pressing details button on HD SC
Setup's partition dialog box.
