No, I tried all three slots with both cards. I don't think it is a bad
slot. Yes. I used the Asante Troubleshooter. This is what I get, if the
card is in the IIci:

1) System Info
--------------
System Software: 7.61
Machine Type: IIci
Memory Size: 67108864 bytes
Rom Version: 6.7c
AppleTalk: 58.1.7

2) Slot Info
------------
Slot E
   Card Type: MacCon Ethernet
   Node Address: 00:00:94:21:19:44
   Ram Size: 64KB
   Driver Version: 7.3.5

3) Test Results
---------------
Ram Test failed at feed0000H, expect: 0H, actual: 60H

(Note: all other test fail, because there is no network connection
possible)

On the IIsi (with identical Systemfolder and driver installed), 1) and
2) are identical save a different Memory Size (35651584 bytes) and
another slot (Slot 9) but under 3) all test are passed. In the IIsi the
card is attached to a PDS > Nubus adapter with built in FPU

So, at this point I only can guess, a) that the card is ok, and b) that
the pds slot in the IIsi makes the difference to the Nubus slots (??).

TIA & kind regards,

Ulrich
