Good clue, I wondered about that also. The original sense for a 575 should
be 6 I THINK (going by the HW30 doc). If the reported sense is inverted, that
would be 1. Anyway "1" is what I USED to get before the mod...

I suspected that as well. The sense did change from 1 to 0. I THINK it should
have changed from 6 to 23 decimal. It may be that the driver simply
doesn't report the extended sense correctly (can someone out there let us 
know if they get extended sense codes on their dmesgs?) If it's just a
reporting problem then I assume there is a bug in the driver that is producing
the "split" screen.

Maybe I'll play with the machine ID to see if that changes anything...
