btw, you might want to have your mailer wrap lines at 80 columns.  it
makes for far easier reading.

anyway, when you say "get gcc on my Mac directly", do you mean under
netbsd?  if so, just make sure you've installed the comp.tgz set.  then
you'll have gcc ('cc' is also gcc).  of course, if you're running
-current, it'll actually be egcs (the next-generation of gcc, more or
less).
