I defined a new user with vipw, could login on it, but
after rebooting  __NO__  user works...
(and I defined at least 3 users without password...)

I rebooted single user, and used pwd_mkdb to clean it
up, but now, "vipw" says it is locked.
How can I delete the lock (file)?

Yeah, I found it, just delete the /etc/ptmp file,
which seems to be a copy of /etc/master.passwd.


BTW, I've remarked pppd doesn't work fine with appletalk.
And, when you kill tin, there is something hanging in the
background that still transfers data...
