Quite awhile back, Allen Briggs was able to get at least minimal
support for the external SCSI bus. The external bus 'just worked' before
any tweaking was done. So, if it is an internal tape you will have no
problems, and I think by now external SCSI should be working just fine. I
was able to run my Q900 off of an external drive with Allen's patches
awhile back. I'm PRETTY sure his changes made it into the tree, but don't
quote me on that! ;-)
