I'm going to reinstall 1.3.2 because I inadvertently
installed 1.3 and have been using that for a while.

I want to back up my configuration files and other files.

How should I back them up?

One plan was to cpout and put them on the Mac OS partion and
then move them back to the BSD
partion after the reinstall is completed. But I can't move
entire directories with cpout only files.

So I tried to use "tar" to archive the directories and then
I would use cpout in the installer to put them in
a safe place. But I'm not sure how to use that "tar"
command. I read the man page and am still a bit confused.

Could some one please send me the command line that they
would use to say back up theie /etc directory?

Guy

  Thanks
