Hi,
Just a little fyi,

in the packages there is a small utility written in C that automates most
everything. it's called 'addnerd'.

It works well with my 1.3 version of NetBSD

it assumes you have a /home directory

It creates everything needed for an account except activating the password.

an account creation session consists of the following

addnerd <newnerd>
passwd <newnerd>

changing local password for <newnerd>
New password: <input password here>
Retype new password: <re-input password here>

and that's it ;-)

Tweeking the account information is done with

chpass <newnerd>

This puts you in the account editing mode in vi
(be sure you know how to use vi before you do this)

You can change the Uid, Gid, set the date by which the account passwd must
be changed, set the date of expiration of the account, define the default
shell type for this account

Hope this helps a bit
