I ran NetBSD on an LC 476 (essentially an identical system).  After the
video changes I made in August, I had no problems with it outside of the
normal 68LC040 issues.  Two things to note:

- The video changes are not absolutely required, but they do get the
  console aligned properly, and I seem to recall that X crashes in
  some instances on earlier kernels.

- The 47x series use the esp SCSI driver, so it doesn't matter which
  of the two kernels you use.
