As Colin pointed out, man pppd will tell you how, though it's in the fine
print.
To /etc/ppp/options, add
user <Your_ISP_Username>
and then make an /etc/ppp/pap-secrets file, containing
<Your_ISP_Username> * <Your_ISP_Password>
