That would work.  More direct ways are using cpin & cpout from the mac
installer.  A much better solution is hfsutils which can be gotten
from ftp.mars.org.  

Personally, I'd reccomend v3.2.6 (two weeks on the new rev...no
corruption anywhere in daily use.  I just wish it wouldn't panic the
kernel if I try to use it under X.
