No, nothing out of the ordinary appears during booting or while running.

/etc/ifconfig.sn0 looks like:
-----------------
inet 192.9.200.178 netmask 255.255.255.0
-----------------

If I boot with rc_configured set to no, then "ifconfig -a" produces:
-----------------
sn0: flags=8822<BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
	address: 08:00:07:dc:55:77
ppp0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
ppp1: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
lo0: flags=8008<LOOPBACK,MULTICAST> mtu 32976
sl0: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 296
-----------------

And if I boot into multiuser, "ifconfig -a" produces:
-----------------
sn0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu
1500
	address: 08:00:07:dc:55:77
	inet 192.9.200.178 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.9.200.255
ppp0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
ppp1: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
lo0: flags=8009<UP,LOOPBACK,MULTICAST> mtu 32976
	inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
sl0: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 296
-----------------

Would building with SNDEBUG defined produce any useful info?
