Hi,

I _had_ my NetBSD box setup as a ppp server last night (took along time to
figure out that I needed custom ip-up and ip-down files to manually
configure the routing since that same ip address on the remote end is also
used for dialup to another Mac on the LAN...)

Well today I switched modems from an old 14.4 ATT to a V.Everything USR
Courier. The ATT was just there for testing. Now I get home and I can't
connect.

I hiccuped (SIGHUP) pppd and in the message log I get:

Nov  1 21:20:49 shaft pppd[27560]: Using interface ppp0
Nov  1 21:20:49 shaft pppd[27560]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/tty00
Nov 1 21:20:51 shaft pppd[27560]: Serial line is looped back.
Nov  1 21:20:51 shaft pppd[27560]: Connection terminated.

(shaft is my hostname... can you dig it?)

Any idea what this means or how to fix it without rebooting?

Thanks,
