You are aware of

as an example?
What you do to make up the correct layout is essentially crank up the MacOS
"Keyboard" desk accessory to find out all the <opt> and <shift> <opt> key
combinations you are interested in (a second Mac helps here) and set up the
Xmodmap table accordingly.
