First of all, thanks a lot for the helpful responses I have got from many
of you.

I have a couple of more questions.
(1) One thing that has bitten me a few times, notably yesterday when I
started compiling /usr/src, is a
panic: out of space in kmem_map
This was with GENERIC-80 (Dave: I never got to compiling -current with your
patch applied, I'll try to get that done later today). I remember seeing
that some fixes to UVM have been made recently, so maybe the problem will
go away. I'll append a trace output below.

(2) Is it correct that I can have something like
COPTS += -O2 -mc68040
in /etc/mk.conf and compile my stuff with '040 instructions? I browsed
through /usr/share/mk/* and that is what I the stuff there.

(3) Does anyone know if there exists an Appleshare _client_ for *BSD? I'd
like to look into the possibility of mounting Appleshare volumes under
NetBSD and using that setup for automated backups.

Best regards,
/hcb

Appendix: trace output after the kernel panic (GENERIC-80, Q840 AV, quite
recent snapshot, X. The error seems to happen occasionally during large
compiles.)
